Larisa Alaverdyan expects exclusion of full-scale war from Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting

YEREVAN, December 17, ARMENPRESS. The planned meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev will be an achievement for Minsk Group Co-chairs as this meeting was their aim and the basic issue. As “Armenpress” reports, Larisa Alaverdyan, Executive director of Foundation Against Violation of Law NGO, made such an observation during the meeting with journalists on December 17.

“Positive result expected from the meeting is that full-scale war will be excluded and the negative- that in this case provocations are likely to increase over the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line,” Alaverdyan said.

President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will conduct a working visit to Bern, Switzerland on December 18. He will meet with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Bern on December 19. The meeting is mediated by the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
